Get in touch, give me a feedback or just say hi.
I love how Johnson’s has this advocacy to empower moms and remind us that it’s the moments born from those not-so-picture-perfect realities of motherhood; tantrums, whining, endless whys, unexpected ugly (upset tummy) episodes in a restaurant while you should be enjoying your meal, stained treasured clothing pieces all these that you and I survived.
One of the things that made my yaya-me, SAHM life rather, is having a carrier – a lifesaver. Among the types of carriers available, I’m more comfortable with SSC or Soft Structured Carrier because all I have to do is to strap my child on my body with it.
Whenever we are at the mall, Elijah often request to play at the pay-per-hour play areas. I let him because he doesn’t have much choices (stations to play in) and playmate (aside from his sister) whenever at home. In short, he was confined with his not-so-many-toys and books inside our house. This is also a time for me to relax a bit while sitting there waiting for his time at the play area/center to be finished.
On my list of menu for the week, one of the meals I cooked for them is this Sautéed Broccoli Paired with Fried Tuna. Why did I say that this is a healthy dish for my Eli and Ella? Broccoli and Tuna were good sources of protein, iron, magnesium, carbs, fiber, minerals and potassium. In terms of vitamins, there is a wealth of vitamin B12 and niacin, as well as a good amount of vitamin B6 and riboflavin. My daughter is under a weight gain plan, if I may mention. That’s why I am very intentional of what I feed her (them) these days.
Our dearest Ella has a health issue and is under a weight gain program. It includes more protein intake as the physician suspects that my body isn’t producing milk to address enough caloric absorption — I also noticed that I am no longer experiencing engorgement anymore. “Of course, your system will prioritize the unborn baby inside you.” she explained. We were advised to give vitamins and milk supplement.
One thing I figured about motherhood is, it is overwhelming yet very fulfilling.
I don’t complain. I won’t complain as I have a wonderful husband. He is a great provider and overly understanding. Every time he goes back from work to a messy house–toys and books on the floor– he smiles and understands. Oh I love him so so much. Come weekends, he has no work. More often than not I will wake up to a husband busy doing the dishes or washing the dirty electric fans, scrubbing the bathroom walls while the washing machine is in full swing with the laundry.
We survived the summer and its scourging heat through frequent bathing and shower.
My kids don’t have a super sensitive skin but it tends to react to the summer weather. My little girl Ella developed some rashes on her nape over the summertime. That’s when I decided to try Aveeno Daily Wash & Shampoo together with the Soothing Relief. I first saw my best friend using these products and I was hesitant to try back then. It wasn’t until I purchased some Aveeno Baby items during a big sale of a membership shopping store.
I have shared here that our little guy is now into scribbling and drawing things. And so it excites us both to know that BIC® launches a collection of coloring products designed especially for kids!
A collection of writing and coloring products especially designed for children aged two to ten years old, the BIC® Kids’ line comprises of high-quality yet affordable products that are all compliant with EN71 European toy industry standard.
I never would have this appreciation of Mother’s Day if I haven’t been a mom myself. Malls jam-packed on this day is a normal scenario. Sure I am one of those who would patiently line up in the long lines of people outside or inside a bakeshop to get their Mama a cake for this day. But I never would understand how much a mom deserves more than that until I too became one of them. Motherhood is more than just doing the piles of laundry or preparing a meal. It’s the willingness to give yourself if needed to those children of yours. That is maybe why a mommy deserves more than a cake for that day.
Have you noticed at least one of your child’s natural gifts or talents yet? My firstborn showed interest in arts late last year and so we enrolled him to the Arts and Crafts workshop for this summer to help him enhance it. I think that’s what all parents would do – support their child in every way possible for their best interest.
I wasn’t born with poor eyesight but I have slight issues with it since college. Luckily, it’s so minor that I can defer using one. I am on my thirties now and still with no spectacle. I just feel like it’s so inconvenient for me to move around with those especially now that I am a mom. w
What’s your favorite household chore(s)? Mine is definitely NOT washing my children’s clothes—oh how it pains me to attend to those small articles of clothing! But what can I do? Aside from the fact that motherhood comes with it, I cannot have their items be washed by our neighbor laundry shop as they have sensitive skin. Their Pedia even said it’s close to mild atopic dermatitis. Still atopic dermatitis, right?
Growing up I never believed that I am beautiful.
What is beauty if the brain is empty? That’s what I always wrote when asked to fill-out an autograph’s or slam note’s section for DEFINE BEAUTIFUL. What a bitter try to answer it right? I don’t know about you but I was made to believe that being morena is not at all beautiful — back in the ’90s I saw tons of beauty ads with a mestiza in it.
Good oral health care is crucial at every age, but it’s especially important during childhood. That’s why it’s critical that parents have accurate information about their kids’ teeth. Unfortunately, there are a lot of myths about child dental care floating around out there. Whether these myths come from friends, family, or misinformed internet forums, they can be harmful to your child’s dental and overall health.
It’s the time of the year again! The much awaited Scholastic Warehouse Sale is coming your way this summer starting this March until May 2018, they will be open EVERYDAY (except March 29-April 1) until May 27, 2018 from 9am to 6pm.
Skin is the largest organ of our body, have you heard of that? Sure you do!
Eating healthy (tons of greens, water, and fiber), getting enough sleep and a lot of exercise were the stuff that I am guilty of not doing or at least wasn’t able to do these days. Yes, over and over again, motherhood is my excuse. Laughs. Who doesn’t want glowing skin? Most of my mommy friends rave about the miracle of argan oil.
I am in the business of pampering myself lately just to strike a balance with motherhood. Moms, you know how mommyhood is, right? And so, I had my facial, a trim for my mane and a foot spa with gel polish pedicure.
My go to mall is Robinsons Galleria as it doesn’t have that huge crowd and the commute not a hassle compared to its neighbor malls, this is if my agenda is not shopping during SALE. Wandering inside, I discovered Hey Sugar Waxing Salon is newly opened!
Besides my awesome husband, babywearing gives my motherhood journey some sort of ease. That is why whenever there’s an event related to it I take the opportunity to show my support.
Shadrach’s Collection celebrated their 3rd anniversary as a dual celebration with the International Babywearing Week or IBW.
Imagine you are riding in a car with your family; your husband in charge of the steering wheel, your firstborn riding shotgun while you and your second child sitting side by side at the back seat–all strapped with the seat belt traveling to your in-laws. Safe right? No problem. For some unfortunate twist of fate, somebody bumped the left side of your car. Oh, a dent that’s hard to ignore! Nothing you cannot handle because it’s just the car, no member of the family was harmed or earned even a scratch. Question is, is your car insured?
Paying our bills or buying grocery items has become a hassle for me. For a yayaless mother, I have to prep my children and myself before I could go out of the house and do some errands. Either that or (most of the time) I will just wait for my husband to pay or buy after his work at 5:00 PM. Is there no easy way for this? That’s what I always ask myself when being given that situation. Over time, I learn to utilize online options available like for grocery items, online banking and shopping some fashion pieces. What I haven’t found yet then was an online store for my kids’ vitamins and medicines. Hassle is an understatement; I hate long lines–a baby on the carrier and a 4-year-old on my one hand. I did not mention the weather here yet. Because a rainy day or super sunny day, both no good for the given situation.
