The Great Cloth Diaper Change 2015 and my Family
Were you able to attend the GCDC or The Great Cloth Diaper Change 2015?
My family and I were in Montgomery Place Clubhouse last year to attend the GCDC 2015.
We arrived at a scene where moms and dads were lined up at the registration table and babies on their cute-printed cloth diapers!
They have to measure up the babies participating the event. A child should be 39 inches/99 centimeters in height or shorter to join.
When you go upstairs you’ll see the items on sale; diapers and a lot of baby stuff.
I pride myself on participating in that event though my then 22-month old Elijah was almost potty trained. Still on nappies right? Why I wanted to be part of the event? Because GCDC’s aim is to beat the Guinness record for the most cloth diapers changed at one time!
Any 100% reusable cloth diaper can be used if it was purchased online or at a physical retail store. This includes diapers made by WAHMs, Etsy, etc., as long as they can be purchased online or in a physical retail store. The Guinness requirements do not allow for diapers that are homemade if they are not sold online or at a physical store. The Guinness also do not allow cloth trainers.
When a parent arrives for the event, their baby can be in a disposable or a cloth diaper. Their baby must, however, be changed into a 100% reusable cloth diaper during the Change.
Imagine so many babies being changed at one time! Cool, right? A participant may only change one child. If you have more than one child to change, ask another adult to register and pair with your 2nd child.

Yes, there’s a regitration fee. I paid Php150.00. This entrance fee is good for 1 child and 1 companion, inclusive of GCDC souvenir shirt, 1 entry to our raffle and 1 lootbag. A fee of P50.00 will be charged per non-participating companion (kid or adult). It is non-refundable. Member must be present at the event to claim raffle prize/s and lootbags.
There were activities during that event but the Gymboree session was what Elijah enjoyed a lot.
What’s inside the lootbag:
GCDC shirt from Graphic 8
PUL wetbag from Fluffy Ds
Printed sandos from Caprichosa
Play pass from Gymboree
Laundry detergent from Cycles
Mosquito patches from Smart Steps
Lactation drinks from Mother Nurture
Lactation goodies from Mama Chows
Snacks from Pan de Manila
Raffle. I won a Myook Butt nappy from the raffle! I think no one went home empty-handed.
The nappy was so cute that my toddler–as you can see at the photos above–wore it during the event.
ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES FROM THE ORGANIZERS:
No strollers allowed inside the venue. All strollers should be parked outside. The organizers will not be liable for any loss to strollers and properties that you may bring to the event.
This year, there’s going to be another GCDC happening in different venues. We will be attending the San Juan leg. Did you manage to register? You can be a mom, a dad, an aunt, an uncle, an older brother or sister, as long as you’re at least 18 years old and you have a child who meets the height requirement, you may participate.
See you there!
