Have the Bert Lozada Swim School Advantage
Have the Bert Lozada Swim School Advantage
Swimming is a life skill that everyone must learn. Don’t you agree? Unfortunately, I don’t know how to swim. I can float, yes, but I can’t swim. A few times I inquired a swimming class for me and Elijah, this time I will really push on it. Why?
Swimming is a healthy activity anyone can continue for a lifetime. Beating the heat always involves a trip to the beach or a resort pool, both requiring swimming skills to maximize the fun safely. Knowing how to swim can help you survive, save a life or just enjoy a vacation, be more fit for some or be confident.
Elijah and I were invited to the celebration of Bert Lozada Swim School’s 60th year. Wow, BLSS has been in this industry since 1956! Furthermore, BLSS is the country’s largest swim institution. Now I’m almost decided where to have our swimming lessons.

They offer swimming lessons for as young as infants to adults, beginners and advanced swimmers, of course, competitive swimming too. BLSS also caters to people with special needs.
Amongst Bert Lozada Swim School Programs, the FREE Swim Lessons that they provide is what I admire most about them. It was from its late founder, Remberto “Bert” C. Lozada’s vision of a drown-free Philippines. Providing swimming lessons for out-of-school youth to influence their social and psychological impact in the community. Giving them worthwhile activities and using their idle time is one way to develop these youths to become productive citizens. Bert Lozada Swim School helps in teaching indigent children the necessary swimming skills that will help them improve their lives… for free. They are taught life-saving skills in the event of a flood, as well as allow them to get into the swim program in order to have a chance at a college scholarship.
We had a fun-filled baby and me session with Pepper Angeles-Lozada, BLSS Infant Aquatics Program Manager, together with her husband Angelo Lozada.
My Baby and Me Infant/Toddler Program
An aquatic program designed to teach parents and children to be familiar with the water. Parents are taught how to help their child to be confident and happy in the water, and encourage learning through fun activities. This program will prepare your infant/toddler physically, psychologically and socially for more structured swimming lessons later in life.
1 Teacher : 6 Students with parent ratio
30 minutes/class
Level 1: Water Explorer (Starfish: Age 6-12 months)
A pre-swimming class with the parent in the water.
Level 2: Water Familiar (Puffers: Age 1 – 2.5 years)
For children who are eager to participate with parent in the water.
Level 3: Water Safety (Guppers: Age 2.6 – 4 years)
Teaches children to perform basic water safety.

I specially like these BLSS programs held in Ace Waterspa, great for parents who don’t want their kids to get sunburns due to swimming lessons.

Our Yael enjoys his everyday bath so no doubt he will surely enjoy swimming. And yes, learning to swim is a must; good thing my boys know how to. My firstborn had swimming lessons at school while the two learned on their own.
