Who cannot relate to Star Wars mania? Me. Right, a bold and honest YES, ME answer. I haven’t seen any Star Wars movie yet. The only characters I am familiar with were R2-D2 and Luke Skywalker only because I heard those from the people around me and was glued in my brain.
But last night when I entered Victoria Court’s newest themed room SPACE WARS, I suddenly understood why Star Wars has tons of fans. Inside, it felt like amazement struck me countless times.
Alaskas has different initiatives on helping our kids develop a love for sports. One of these is the Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA which shapes, trains, challenges and inspire children to achieve their dreams and aspirations in life. It is an international youth development program that promotes basketball participation, sportsmanship and teamwork, and an active lifestyle among boys and girls.
I volunteered to cover their Regional Selection Camp Manila leg. I wanted to witness it myself. I wanted to see how kids push for their dreams through basketball. I wanted to see how their parents support them and how that support affects their determination to bag a spot in the National Training Camp. From there they’ll pick 10 boys and 5 girls for the All-Star Team.
I was invited to a knowledge sharing session with Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) or Doctors Without Borders I’ve learned that PCV can be as affordable as $5 for 3 shots!
MSF doesn’t believe life-saving vaccines should be sold for huge profits in developing countries. Companies must do their part to reduce vaccine prices and lower the overall cost to immunize a child.
